Festival Season - Survival of the Fittest

Just after I'd returned from a really exhausting trip to Fusion Festival / Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with its glittering woods, shitpants wearing goa-pixies, green skined electro-hippies and techno dancers in g-string I found these cool pics of this year's party folks at sonar festival in spain! Taken by Markus Rico for neo2.es they express exactely what festivals are about: nearly deaf and dead tired but still rocking!

La Roux - Stop Smiling!

Egal, worüber ich Musiktechnisch auch stolpere, momentan trägt alles, aber auch wirklich alles den Stempel "Kitsuné". Nicht, dass ich La Roux's mit leicht depressiv wirkender Frontfrau für besonders hervorhebenswert finde, aber neulich bin ich über das Video zu "Bulletproof" geschliddert und das wollte ich euch nicht vorenthalten. Es ist immer wieder beachtlich, wieviel ein gut gemachtes Video rausholt.

What the hell is he/she/it? As far as I could find out just by running over some blog entries, this gorgeous singing and dancing piece of art is actually choreographer for show-biz divas such as Janet Jackson and Beyoncé. Jonte “J-Day” Escuelita's looks remind me of a Grace Jones / Bruce Darnell / Leyla K. - Crossbreed and if there was a slight influence of Brian Ferry's sexy attitude I wouldn't be suprised at all!

Anna Schwamborn - Oma's Schmuckkästchen

Was Central St. Martin - Studentin Anna Schwamborn uns mit ihrer Kollektion "Mourning Objects" vorstellt, ist wirklich harter Tobak! Ein Schmuck-Ensemble nicht aus Oma's Schmuckkästchen sondern aus Oma selbst! Ihre Ketten, Armbänder und Schlüsselanhänger sind nämlich aus echtem Haupthaar und menschlicher Asche gefertigt und kommen mit dem Zusatz feinsten Porzellans ganz nach oben aufs Schmucktreppchen der Luxusklasse! Schluck! Also Omi, es wird Zeit! Ich brauch ne neue Kette!

Loriot - kurz und bündig

Anlässig der derzeitigen Loriot-Ausstellung im Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe / Hamburg muss ich ganz schnell mal diesen SuperMega-Ultralustigen Sketch von Großmeister Loriot posten. Die Ausstellung an sich ist meiner Meinung nach eher was für Fans, aber geht hin und bildet Euch lieber eure eigene Meinung.

Art Basel 41 - Eva & Adele's playground

Okay, it's art basel time again! Time for the young and creative, the fibrant and (re-)constructed, the rich and poor. Among all this year featured galleries and artists there can only be one question that keeps you awake all night: will THEY be there and if so what will they WEAR? Well, it's an untold prophesy that these girls WILL be at Art Basel. Wherever the most exciting art exibitions, vernissages or art fairs take place berlin based artist-duo Eva & Adele have already booked their flights to bandy the bitter pill of kitschy glamour about those heavily debating and champagne drinking art folks.

We have band - Video of the Day!

Wurde Zeit, dass We have band endlich unter die Haube kommen. Das elektronische Guru-Label Kitsuné hat veranlasst, was schon die britische Zeitung The Guardian zu tun gedachte, und gab dem Trio aus England einen Plattenvertrag, also sprich die Goldene Eintrittskarte zu Ruhm und Ehr' in elektronischen Hüftburgen rund um den Globus (wie das ja oft so ist mit Kitsuné-Veröffentlichungen). Bevor der große Geldregen jedoch die armen Briten traf, hatten sie anscheinend mehr als genug Zeit ein derartig tolles Video zu ihrer neuen Single "We came out" zu fabrizieren. Diese schaurig-schöne Face-paint-Animation kommt mit nicht weniger als 4,816 separaten Stills aus, bei der jeder Frame einzeln bemalt und abfotografiert werden musste. Die Arbeit hat sich gelohnt, aber schaut selbst!

Bat for Lashes - Perlen vor die Wölfe!

Irgendwie bin ich gerade über das neue Video von Bat for Lashes gestolpert! Oha, da hat aber jemand style-technisch seine Hausaufgaben gemacht! Die Single " Pearl's Dream" aus dem zweiten Album "Two Suns" wird erst Ende Juni 09 rauskommen. Natasha Khan gibt wieder mal ein besonders ehrwürdiges Stilvorbild ab und scheut sich weder vor dem bösen Wolf noch vor den viel fürchterlicheren Fringe-Shoulder-Pads Marke "durchgeknallte Stylistin". Okay, ich seh mich auch schon durch die Dissen hopsen als American-Football-Zwerg in pinken Leggins von AA. Es bleibt jedoch abzuwarten, ob wir um bauschige Schulterpartien in den Fußgängerzonen herum kommen?!
